In , women’s labor force participation trails men’s by nearly 30 percentage points, driven largely by unequal care responsibilities. Women perform three out of every four unpaid care tasks, yet only 18% of companies provide childcare-related support.
To better understand how care infrastructure shapes workforce participation and stability, ICRW-Americas is conducting a preliminary assessment of childcare needs in industrial zones across the country. The research explores how care services can be designed to be accessible, high-quality, and sustainable within industrial environments.
