How is it possible to remain joyful all the time? Paul gives us the key: “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Phil. 4:4). The key to the Christian’s joy is its source, which is the Lord. If Christ is in me and I am in Him, that relationship is not a sometimes experience. The Christian is always in the Lord and the Lord is always in the Christian, and that is always a reason for joy. Even if the Christian cannot rejoice in his circumstances, if he finds himself passing through pain, sorrow, or grief, he still can rejoice in Christ. We rejoice in the Lord, and since He never leaves us or forsakes us, we can rejoice always. – RC Sproul

This past weekend, our elder daughter Audrey graduated from Geneva College with a double major in Communications and Spanish. Throughout the weekend's events, I found myself reflecting on what the occasion represented:

• Hard work and perseverance by Audrey as a student
• Care and investment by her godly professors
• Years of training for a vocation through the lens of a biblical worldview
• And support and encouragement of family and friends.

Last month, the Riquelme family officially received their Dominican citizenship. This historic event is the culmination of a lengthy process spanning years after moving from Cuba to join Empowering Action in January 2017. For the believer it is impossible to overstate the importance this day represents.

“It is impossible to exaggerate the importance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection is the assurance that He is the Son of God. It is the assurance that He is the Messiah. The resurrection is the assurance that He will come again to judge and to reign. The resurrection is the assurance that our sins are forgiven and that all who are in Christ will be raised with Him.” (Zuber, 2021).
