A new school year brings new classrooms, new classmates, and new opportunities to grow and learn.

But learning doesn’t stop when the school bell rings. For too many kids, the opportunity to participate in sports isn’t a given. Sports teach confidence, teamwork, discipline, resilience and give kids a chance to challenge themselves, make friends, and be part of something bigger.

This back-to-school season, help us put sports equipment into the hands of kids who need it most by donating, volunteering, or dropping off your gently used sports equipment.

We are excited to announce that after serving as our Interim Executive Director, Sean Bailey has accepted the offer to join as Leveling the Playing Field’s (LPF) permanent Executive Director!

“For the past nine months as our Interim Executive Director, Sean has been a steady hand at the helm of LPF, helping guide the organization through an important period of transition.

That experience has reinforced our belief that Sean’s combination of mission commitment, organizational leadership, and experience building strong, sustainable organizations is exactly what LPF needs for its next chapter,” said LPF Board Chair, Tracy Scarrow.

We can’t get enough of these Football Days! 🏈

Today, LPF Greater Washington is welcoming 20 high school football programs from around the DMV, which means we will be setting up around 1000+ student-athletes with equipment so they can hit the ground running!

We are so thankful to the Washington Washington Commanders for their generous contributions and for sponsoring GW Football Day for the second year!

From cleats and coolers, to shoulder pads, shirts, sweats, and hats, we can’t wait to get all this gear into the hands of kids across Greater Washington!

We weren’t kidding...football season really is just around the corner and yesterday was Philly’s turn for Football Day!

Coaches and athletic directors from 8 schools in Greater Philadelphia picked up a total of $13K worth of gear. The impact? 400+ kids are now equipped to play for their upcoming seasons!

Football season is just around the corner and that means LPF Football Days are in full swing!

ICYMI: This week LPF Baltimore welcomed local coaches from 14 different programs to pick up equipment to get their teams ready for their seasons.

Thank you again to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award foundation and the Baltimore Ravens and Riddell who have all supported LPF in enabling kids to compete and feel confident this season with the gear they need.

A soccer ball is a portal to more than a sport. It's an invitation to play, make friends, and get outside. The World Cup has concluded, but the impact in our communities continues.

This year alone, LPF has distributed over 4,000 soccer balls across our seven markets! Because of your generosity, thousands of kids now have greater access to the game and the opportunity to grow, thrive, and experience the joy that soccer brings.

We were proud to partner with the G.I.R.L.S. Sports Foundation today in Buffalo, NY for a special sports bra distribution event, helping ensure more young athletes have access to one of the most essential and often overlooked pieces of sports equipment.

LPF Ohio and the Columbus Crew have launched a co-branded metal donation bin! We celebrated the launch with partners such as Columbus Recreation and Parks and Ohio Cat, families and community members, and Evan Bush and Sean Zawadzki of the Columbus Crew.

We are excited to partner with the Crew to collect more soccer donations in Ohio!
