What a wonderful and momentous day it has been. From today, we are PAHO Foundation. We will focus on helping PAHO improve health coverage, reduce the toll from noncommunicable diseases, combat vector-borne and vaccine-preventable diseases, and fight women’s cancers, among others. An additional priority will be mobilizing resources to eliminate cholera from Haiti.

The Foundation and PAHO will continue to cosponsor the Awards for Excellence in Inter-American Public Health. Launched in 1975, the awards recognize individuals, programs, institutions, and organizations for their work in advancing health in the Americas, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean. Today is an exciting day. The organization that you've known for 45+ years, has a new look, a new energy, a new logo and a new name!
Welcome to "PAHO Foundation," the philanthropic partner of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) known previously as the Pan American Health and Education Foundation (PAHEF).

Today we are evermore focused on helping PAHO mobilize resources for improving health in the Americas and support them in closer alignment with their strategic priorities. Individuals and the private sector have always been generous in supporting public health and our organization. Now you will have an even better reason to invest in the Americas region and should not look any further! You can help us spread the work about our new mission and join us in creating a culture of contagious generosity.

In the next few months, look for more exciting news as we announce new and renewed funders to our projects in meningococcal disease, dengue and influenza. And our new recognition society (Salud Society)! I personally invite you to contact with us and get involved!
