Justice for s*xual assault survivors should never become a political bargaining chip.

The Department of Justice is threatening to withhold federal grants that help communities process r**e kits, investigate cold cases, and prosecute s*xual offenders if certain jurisdictions do not cooperate with ICE. Advocates warn that cutting these funds could delay justice for survivors and undermine public safety.

Protecting r**e kit funding means protecting survivors.

Women’s Equality Day celebrates women’s rights activism and reminds us that the fight for gender equality is far from over.

Gender equality isn’t just about the gender pay gap: Women continue to disproportionately experience s*xual violence in daily life, the workplace, and across college campuses.

Adriane Moen sued her s*x trafficker in civil court and won! .

This monumental success paves the way for other survivors to use civil liability to get justice and prevent s*xual violence.

Most survivors are pushed into criminal cases but civil suits are an accessible option that mirrors restorative justice. The focus is on restoring the harm the survivor endured.

🗣 Speak with your local r**e crisis center, state coalition, or survivor-informed law firm about you legal options.

📢 Support bills in your state and in the federal government that will expand civil liability for perpetrators

Today is World Humanitarian Day and an important time to highlight that behind many online scam operations are victims of human trafficking. United Nations and IOM United States warn that people are being deceived by fake job offers, trafficked into scam compounds, and forced to commit online fraud through violence and coercion. This is a humanitarian crisis and highlights how trafficking is not limited to s*xual exploitation — it includes forced labor and criminality as well.

These individuals are victims who deserve protection, justice, and support, not punishment.

A new BBC documentary, Hunting the Spycammers, exposes the growing threat of “spycamming”—the use of covert cameras to film people without their knowledge or consent, often in places where they expect privacy.
This is technology-facilitated abuse, enabled by cheap, disguised recording devices and online networks that help perpetrators distribute illegal content.
We need stronger protections, accountability for tech companies that enable abuse, and laws that work to prevent these harms before they happen.
