Join Tribal leaders, technology professionals, and partner organizations for the Technology Task Force’s quarterly meeting on October 14, from 2–3:30 p.m. ET. The discussion will explore emerging technology policy issues, including artificial intelligence, data centers, broadband, spectrum, and federal and state legislation, with a focus on protecting Tribal sovereignty and advancing Tribal priorities.

Participants will help identify policy and regulatory priorities, inform resolution development, and explore strategies and resources to support Tribal Nations in navigating the cultural, economic, environmental, and infrastructure impacts of emerging technologies.

How Indian Country is counted matters. Proposed changes to the 2030 Census would remove race and ethnicity questions, threatening critical data about American Indian and Alaska Native populations that help inform federal funding for housing, health, transportation, and community development.

NCAI urges Tribal leaders and officially designated representatives to make their voices heard during today’s virtual U.S. Census Bureau Tribal consultation.

Today, we join Indigenous communities across the U.S. and Canada in honoring the resilience of survivors and remembering the countless children who were lost to the tragic history of Indian boarding schools. National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, or , reminds us of the generational impacts of cultural erasure and the ongoing need for healing, truth, and justice.

At NCAI, we have advocated for recognition of the federal government's role in the Indian boarding school system and for meaningful steps toward healing. More recently, NCAI resolutions have supported federal legislation to establish a Truth and Healing Commission to examine the history and ongoing impacts of Indian boarding school policies and advance a process of truth and healing.

As we continue this work, we must ensure the stories of survivors and their families are heard, and that these moments are not forgotten.
