At JNS’s International Policy Summit in Jerusalem, B’nai B’rith CEO Dan Mariaschin moderated a panel on deep-rooted institutional bias against Israel at the United Nations, joined by panelists Jonathan Harounoff, Itamar Marcus and Hillel Neuer.

Mariaschin recalled his mother taking him as a child to see the newly built U.N. headquarters, a place that then symbolized hope, cooperation and a belief in international order. Today, “she would be shocked.”

He argued that anti-Semitism has become “an industry” within the international system—and the U.N.’s record on Israel makes it hard to disagree.

Thank you, Honeycomb, for spotlighting B'nai B'rith Connect’s work bringing young professionals face-to-face with Holocaust survivors—a reminder of why this kind of intergenerational connection is more urgent than ever.

B’nai B’rith’s Elisabeth Krebs: “There’s a lot of Holocaust denial out there. My hope was these students who heard her story would be equipped in conversations to say, ‘well, you’re wrong, because I heard this person directly tell me their story.’”

We launched the first Jewish public library in the United States!

In 1852 B’nai B’rith opened the Maimonides Library in New York City—the first public building constructed in New York by Jews for secular purposes.

B’nai B’rith Director of Latin American Affairs Eduardo Kohn was in Panama this week for the Organization of American States’ (OAS) 56th General Assembly, as the OAS faces existential challenges amid a worldwide struggle for multilateralism.

Our staff held meetings with foreign ministers and ambassadors of Uruguay, Paraguay, Costa Rica and Argentina, as well as Panamanian Foreign Minister Javier Martínez Acha.

During the Assembly, the OAS unanimously voted to officially recognize Jan. 27 as the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.

As mayor of the city with the largest Jewish population outside Israel, millions of Jewish New Yorkers expect NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani to protect them at a time of surging anti-Semitism.

But he just can’t pass up an opportunity to demonize Israel and attack the Jewish community.

His accusation that AIPAC—or any mainstream pro-Israel advocacy—is a “monster” moving “dark money” invokes blatant anti-Semitic tropes and the age-old conspiracy of Jewish influence over centers of power.

We can read between the lines. When political leaders like Mamdani employ these classic dog-whistles, it serves only one purpose: to mask anti-Semitism under the guise of policy critique, using words like “dark” to instill fear and incite hostility toward Jewish people.

The only monster here is a public official who uses his massive platform to vilify a vulnerable community.

Sen. Bernie Sanders joins the NYC mayor to promote progressive candidates in final day of the campaign.

We denounce the U.N.’s anti-Israel “Commission of Inquiry” (COI) for once again outrageously accusing Israel of “genocide” in an unofficial “conference paper” on children in Gaza.

This finding is not a legal or factual one, but a political assault perpetrated by an “investigative mechanism” intended to craft false narratives vilifying Israelis in perpetuity.

B’nai B’rith denounces U.N.’s anti-Israel “Commission of Inquiry” for accusing Israel of “genocide” in unofficial “conference paper” on children in Gaza.

We are devastated by the shooting in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood—the heart of the city’s Jewish community—that killed a police officer and Rabbi Michael (Michel) Moshe Mizrahi.

While the Jewish community does not appear to have been the primary target of this attack, a climate of rising anti-Semitism across Canada has left communities feeling vulnerable and on edge. That context cannot be ignored.

Our thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones, and the entire Côte-des-Neiges and Montreal Jewish communities.

Reports indicate that shooter was motivated by 'incel' ideology and did not target Jewish neighborhood; Michael Mizrahi remembered as someone who 'always had a kind word'
