Después de una larga espera, finalmente llegó el momento.
En el Fairfax County Fire Department WellFit Center, en el Condado de Fairfax, Virginia, decenas de familiares, compañeros de trabajo y miembros de la comunidad aguardaban el regreso de quienes, durante varios días, habían estado a miles de kilómetros de casa enfrentando una de las misiones de rescate más complejas de sus carreras.
Poco a poco comenzaron a llegar los vehículos que transportaban a los integrantes del equipo de búsqueda y rescate del Condado de Fairfax. Con ellos también regresaban sus inseparables unidades caninas, compañeros silenciosos que, entre montañas de concreto y acero, habían recorrido incansablemente las zonas devastadas por los terremotos que sacudieron a Paseando por Venezuela

After a long wait, the moment had finally arrived.
At the Fairfax County Fire Department WellFit Center in Fairfax County, Virginia, dozens of family members, fellow firefighters, colleagues, and members of the community gathered to welcome home the men and women who, for several days, had been thousands of miles away, carrying out one of the most demanding search-and-rescue missions of their careers.
One by one, the vehicles carrying members of the Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue Team pulled into the facility. Alongside them returned their loyal canine partners—silent heroes who had tirelessly searched through mountains of concrete and twisted steel in the areas devastated by the earthquakes that struck Venezuela
