Do you know an outstanding individual who has demonstrated an exceptional contribution and dedication to the American craft field throughout their career?

Nominations for JRACraft Spring Craft Weekend Master of the Medium and Distinguished Craft Educator Awards close Monday August 24th, 2026. Both awards are celebrated every year at the JRACraft Spring Craft Weekend Fundraiser with a Symposium Awards Brunch.

Nomination(s) should identify the individual and provide a short explanation of why this nominee deserves the honor of being recognized, accompanied by published articles about the nominee, credentials, official titles, videos, reviews, and or honors. The nominations will be vetted and chosen by a selected panel of experts in the craft field.

Great read from the New York Foundation for the Arts, featuring leaders from five important craft organizations discussing the current state of the field.

We’re especially proud to see Kristin Muller, Executive Director of Peters Valley School of Craft and a member of the JRACraft board, included in the conversation.

The piece also got us thinking: Who else should be part of this discussion? What organizations or regions are missing? Why no West Coast voices?

We’d love to hear from you: Which craft organizations are shaping the field today?
