Flowers bring beauty and grace to our lives. 🌸💧

This Water a Flower Day, Julie Wedge reflects on the joy of slowing down, watering our plants, and appreciating the beauty growing around us through every season.

“At Clean Water Fund, we believe water is life. I believe flowers share hope.”

Whether you live in a house with a garden or a 3rd floor studio with “seemingly no light,” flowers can grow anywhere. And sometimes, taking a moment to “stop and smell the roses” is exactly what we need.

New Jersey families shouldn’t have to pay for a climate crisis they didn’t cause.

Scientists warn that our state is on the frontlines of climate disasters, from rising sea levels to more intense flooding and fires. And without action, the cost will fall on us--our homes, our communities, and our wallets.

There’s a better way. The Polluters Pay to Make New Jersey More Affordable Act (S2338/A3735) would make the biggest oil and gas corporations, those most responsible for climate pollution, pay their fair share.

✅ Could generate $2.5 billion per year
✅ Up to $50 billion over 20 years for climate resilience
✅ Holds only the largest polluters accountable, not everyday residents

We’re close, but legislative leadership needs to act NOW. If Senate President Scutari and Assembly Speaker Coughlin post the bill for a vote, it can pass and be signed into law!

⏰ The summer break is approaching fast. We can’t afford delays.

👉 If you live in New Jersey, please take action today: Tell your NJ legislators to push leadership to move this bill forward!

Tell your legislators to pass landmark legislation to make Big Oil corporate polluters pay their fair share for the escalating costs of climate damage — protecting our towns, taxpayers, and future generations. Urge them to vote yes for the “Polluters Pay to Make New Jersey More Affordable Act”...

Coal-fired power plants are one of the largest sources of toxic water pollution in America’s rivers, lakes, and streams.

Now EPA wants to weaken wastewater treatment requirements and allow more toxic pollutants like arsenic, mercury, and lead into our waterways.

Even tiny amounts of these pollutants can threaten drinking water, harm aquatic life, and impact communities already overburdened by pollution.

Tell EPA:
💧 Protect our waterways from toxic coal plant pollution
💧 Stop giveaways to polluters
💧 Protect our drinking water and communities

Millions of Americans are exposed to toxic PFAS “forever” chemicals through their drinking water.

The EPA’s response? Roll back drinking water protections and delay limits on some of the most dangerous PFAS chemicals linked to cancer, hormone disruption, immune system harm, and other serious health risks.

“This is a direct contradiction of the EPA’s mission to protect human health and the environment,” said Amara Strande’s family in response to the proposal.

Clean Water Action helped pass Amara’s Law in Minnesota, one of the nation’s strongest PFAS bans. We know states can lead. EPA should too.

The EPA is proposing to roll back health-based drinking water limits for toxic PFAS “forever” chemicals and delay protections for two more.

“PFAS have been detected in drinking water nationwide. This proposal completely disregards modern science, the urgency of public health experts recommendations as well as the mounting cost of cleanup. This proposal will put our drinking water and countless lives at risk,” said Cindy Luppi, Clean Water Action's Senior Director for State Policy and Program.

PFAS are linked to serious health problems including immune system harm, hormone disruption, high cholesterol, and cancer. These “forever chemicals” persist in the environment and contaminate drinking water sources across the country.

Clean Water Action is proud to be a leader on this issue, including helping pass Amara’s Law in Minnesota, one of the nation’s strongest bans on PFAS.

We urge EPA to focus on controlling PFAS at the source and eliminating their use wherever possible.

Coal-fired power plants are one of the largest sources of toxic water pollution in America’s rivers, lakes, and streams. And now EPA wants to weaken wastewater treatment requirements that help keep arsenic, mercury, lead, and other toxic pollutants out of our water.

Even tiny amounts of these pollutants can harm public health, contaminate drinking water, damage ecosystems, and threaten aquatic life.

This rollback would mean more harmful pollution making its way into communities already disproportionately affected by toxic coal plant pollution.

Tell EPA:
💧 Do not weaken wastewater treatment requirements for coal-fired power plants
💧 Stop giveaways to polluters
💧 Protect our drinking water, water quality, and communities
