🌈 Happy Pride, everyone!

This month, we're taking time to honor the courage of the storytellers who came before us: the ones who boldly lived their truths, who told the stories about our community when no one else would or could, who documented history as it happened. Their work blazed the trail for all of us.

We hope everyone has a joyous month!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for the return of Headlines & Headliners!

We welcomed close to 200 guests for our landmark New York event. It was a joy to gather with old friends and new, and we were thrilled to present Good Morning America's Gio Benitez with the 2026 Randy Shilts Award. Our magnificent host Juju Chang helped us welcome special guests like Jonathan Capehart, Karim Diane, Steven Romo, Katy Tur and more.

Thank you to our sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor ABC News, and our supportersβ€”we can't wait to see you again next year!

Only ONE WEEK until Headlines & Headliners! πŸŽ‰

NLGJA Hall of Famer and Los Angeles Times columnist LZ Granderson said it perfectly:
"I hardly knew anyone when I first moved to New York and started working at ESPN. That all changed because of the lifelong friends I made from NLGJA events like Headlines and Headliners. Now the city always feels like home."

That's what this event has always been about: community. And this year, with so much on the line for LGBTQ+ journalists and the people they cover, coming together matters more than ever.

Join us on April 16 at 7 Hudson Square in New York City for a star-studded evening hosted by JuJu Chang of ABC News. We'll be honoring Good Morning America co-anchor Gio Benitez with the 2026 Randy Shilts Award, and we'll be surrounded by some of the most talented journalists working today.

Tickets start at just $50 for students and early career members. Don't miss it!

Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, we celebrate the brilliance, resilience, and diversity of trans and nonbinary people, and we recommit to telling their stories with fairness, accuracy, and care.

This year, that commitment carries extra weight. Trans people are facing a coordinated, sustained effort to erase their identities from public life, from policy, and from the press. Visibility is not passive. It is a choice journalists make every day.

NLGJA celebrates the brilliance, resilience, and diversity of trans and nonbinary people, and we recommit to the journalism that honors them: quoting trans voices in stories about their lives and beyond them. Asking, not assuming. Correcting misinformation. Refusing to treat trans existence as a debate.

NLGJA stands with trans and nonbinary communities today and every day πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ
