Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region is partnering with the Department of Energy & Environment to bring FrogWatch back to Kingman & Heritage Islands Conservation Area in 2021. FrogWatch, a citizen-science project, needs volunteers to collect and submit data on calling frogs and toads at streams, ponds, and wetlands in and around the District. All training is now online, and volunteers who have completed the training can conduct their own surveys or register for monthly in-person walks at Kingman & Heritage Islands. Online orientation will be March 15th, and the first walk is March 18th. Find more information on training and event registration in the link.
