Liberty no.3 is a masonic lodge working in Washington D.C. Since its opening in 1996, it has welcomed women as well as men. We are part of the George Washington Union of Freemasons of North America, created in 1976, a masonic obedience that practices non-dogmatic Freemason.

The Maryland Masonic Research Society invites you to join us for our Annual Festive Board celebration on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, noon, at Kings Contrivance Restaurant, 10150 Shaker Drive, Columbia, MD, at 10150 Shaker Drive.

The Story of Joseph de Bologne
Chevalier de Saint-George (December 1745 – June 1799) was a French violinist, conductor, and composer. A biracial Creole free man of color, the Chevalier is considered the first classical composer of African descent to receive widespread critical acclaim. He was France’s first Black Freemason and formed the Masonic symphony orchestra Le Cercle de l’Harmonie while rising to the 33rd Degree.

Presenter - Oscar Alleyne Ph.D.

Dr. Oscar Alleyne is an internationally respected Masonic speaker who has presented over 700 lectures to craft lodges and concordant bodies covering multiple areas of interest to Freemasons. He has published in widely distributed Masonic journals, research bodies and educational conferences on Freemasonry. Dr. Alleyne is the current President and Fellow of The Masonic Society, a Fellow and Vice President of the Philalethes Society and a member of the AQC Lodge No. 2076 E.

The ultimate goal is to promote the progress of humanity. The chosen method of working toward these goals is the Masonic ritual.
