It's Volunteer Appreciation Month! We are so excited to highlight some of our amazing volunteers.
When Palisades Village first began taking shape in 2007, Molly Buck was already all in. Inspired by the Village concept and eager to make a difference, she didn’t hesitate to roll up her sleeves and get involved. A self-described “doer,” Molly was motivated from the start by one simple goal: helping people.
While some volunteers gravitate toward committees and meetings, Molly prefers to make her impact out in the community. Over the years, she has become a steady and compassionate presence for so many of our members—driving neighbors to doctor’s appointments and grocery stores, making friendly visits, helping at the house tour and serving as an emergency phone tree captain. She values the structure Palisades Village provides, which allows her to channel her energy into meaningful, hands-on support.
A former teacher, Molly brings both creativity and intuition to her volunteer work. She has a remarkable ability to read people and tailor her interactions based on their personalities, helping each person feel comfortable, understood, and cared for. It’s a skill that makes her especially effective for those she supports. At the same time, Molly understands that intuition isn’t always perfect, and that’s okay. Like all of us, she learns as she goes, and when something doesn’t go quite as expected, she sees it as an opportunity to adjust, grow, and try a different approach next time. It’s a perspective that reflects both humility and wisdom.
Staying active is also a big part of Molly’s life. When she’s not volunteering, you can often find her on the tennis court or out walking her dog, Trap. In fact, she easily clocks 10,000 steps a day—proof that her commitment to staying active fuels both her own well-being and her ability to show up for others.
Molly Buck embodies the spirit of Palisades Village: neighbor helping neighbor, with heart, energy, and dedication. We are so grateful for all that she brings to our community.
