The Ridglan Beagle Rescue CONTINUES!

Today, with the help of Dane County Humane Society, as well as Geezer Butler and Debbie Gibson, hundreds of dogs took their first steps in the next phase of their lives.

But rescuing dogs is just step one. Now we need to wind down animal testing for good.

A major horse slaughter plant in Alberta has shut down—marking another major decline in the North American horse slaughter industry.

The closure of Bouvry Exports leaves just one remaining horse slaughter plant in Canada and none in the United States.

Advocates say the shrinking industry reflects collapsing demand for horse meat and growing public rejection of shipping American horses abroad for slaughter.

Now attention turns to Congress, where lawmakers are being urged to pass the SAFE Act and permanently ban the export of U.S. horses to Mexico and Canada for slaughter.

Big thank you to ABC World News Tonight for covering the beagle rescue from Ridglan Farms - an incredible collaborative effort involving so many groups and dedicated people.

This is an ongoing effort to protect these docile animals and end archaic and inhumane testing on beagles.

David Muir speaks with the two animal nonprofit organizations that helped remove the pups and shared their effort to get them adopted as the beagles head to some 40 states for their forever homes.

Let’s move on from this madness of tormenting animals in laboratories and embrace the genius of human innovation and ingenuity.

The tools are here, and they’ll keep getting better. Organ chips. AI. And more.

Pick them up. Turn them on. Use them.

1,500 beagles are finally free. We led the effort to secure their release from Ridglan Farms.

After lives spent in cages, they are feeling grass for the first time. But here’s the truth: thousands more dogs are still in labs right now.

We’re working to end this—permanently.

This is why we fight. The Ridglan Rescue matters.

But reform is how we stop the suffering at scale.

We’re pushing federal agencies to phase out animal testing entirely.

🚨 Farm Bill Moves Forward...But Animal Protections Blocked

The House passed its version of the Farm Bill, but only after blocking votes on multiple bipartisan animal welfare amendments that had strong support to pass.

Among the measures denied a vote:
- Ending extreme confinement of pigs
- Halting horse slaughter exports
- Cracking down on animal fighting networks
- Stopping subsidies for mink fur farms

Lawmakers were allowed to vote on a carve-out to weaken the greyhound racing ban, and rejected it 178–237.

Critics say leadership blocked the other amendments because they would have passed.

Now attention shifts to the Senate, where advocates say there’s still a path forward to restore these protections.

📢 The fight for animals isn’t over...it’s moving to the next stage.
