COMMUNITY BUILDING IS a core commandment for all Muslims, everywhere. Its framework is broad inclusion. Its design is unity of purpose not opinion. Its motif is a disposition to act together on knowledge for the good of all people, not in the interest of a party or group. This is the value structure of the US council of Muslim Organizations, making it an instrument through which our whole communit

y can call to all that is good, champion what is right and stand against what is wrong— even when it means calling our own to account, regardless of wealth or social status. This is not just talk. Council founders have already itemized more than 30 internal challenges to our community and begun enumerating their solutions. These include:

Ethnic and urban-suburban local divisions
Youth voices absent from decision-making
Scant national presence of Muslim women

This causes other problems:

Many mosques, but little local and neighborhood impact
Inability to articulate Islam on a human level
Muslim complacency in the face of mounting social problems. Externally, a vociferous cabal of extremists increasingly maligns Islam to turn America dangerously against itself. Countering the falsifiers seeking to mislead and betray American society is a communal imperative. The Council has the architecture to build an active, integrated American Muslim community. www.uscmo.org

Today, USCMO joins communities across the nation in commemorating Juneteenth—a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, contributions, and enduring legacy of African Americans.

As we reflect on our nation's history, we reaffirm our shared commitment to justice, equality, and the dignity of every human being. Together, we must continue building a future where freedom, opportunity, and human rights are protected for all.

USCMO Welcomes U.S.-Iran Preliminary Peace Framework, Warns Against Netanyahu Efforts to Sabotage Regional De-Escalation https://uscmo.org/uscmo-welcomes-u-s-iran-preliminary-peace-framework-warns-against-netanyahu-efforts-to-sabotage-regional-de-escalation/?fsp_sid=525 (Washington, D.C., 6/15/2026) – The US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), America’s umbrella group of Muslim associations, today welcomed the preliminary peace framework between the United States and Iran and urged all parties to protect this fragile diplomatic opening from any attempt to sabotage regional de-escalation. After months of war, uncertainty, threats to global energy routes, and fear of a wider regional catastrophe, the world has been waiting anxiously for a serious step away from escalation and toward peace. USCMO welcomes the reported progress toward a U.S.-Iran agreement and expresses appreciation for the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan, Qatar, Türkiye, Oman, and […]
