Carpe Librum sustains the critical mission work of Turning the Page, and we need your help to keep it going! We are looking for volunteers to help our book sales team with setup and pack-up at our pop-up used book sales across the DMV. This opportunity included shelving books by pre-assigned genres for setup or packing books back into their designated boxes. One part of our mission is to turn the proceeds from selling donated and used books into new books for families in Wards 1, 7 & 8 through Turning the Page. This is a great opportunity to spend an hour or two supporting literacy and positive educational outcomes in DC public school.

$3 to $7 books, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl are coming back to Howard University this Thursday, October 8! Between 10 AM and 5 PM, stop by between classes or just take a walk in the sun to shop Carpe Librum’s collection in The Yard, right by Douglass Hall.

Our university sales feature dozens of classic novels, books on critical theory, politics, history, art, sciences, and more! And every item purchased directly supports literacy and family empowerment programs for DCPS families in Wards 1, 5, 7, 8 with Turning The Page We’re excited to return to Howard and see you all there :)

Stopping by a farmers market in the autumn wind is the perfect way to find your next book to curl up with. Or treat yourself to a vintage DVD of your favorite scary movie. Carpe Librum is coming back to Georgetown University’s Red Square for a used-book sale! On Tuesday, September 29, from 10 AM to 5 PM, shop gently-used books, CDs, DVDs, and records for $3 to $7. Our university sales feature dozens of classic novels, as well as books on history, critical theory, art, sciences, and more—you won’t want to miss out! Thank you very much to Office of Neighborhood Life for supporting our work!

Buy a book for yourself, and Turning the Page will buy a book for families participating in their programs! As always, all proceeds from Carpe Librum sales support Turning the Page, an education nonprofit improving educational outcomes.

Not only does Carpe Librum enable us to bring books, CDs, DVDs, and records at accessible prices to your neighborhood, but we also help sustain TTP’s vital work. One part of our mission is turning 100% of proceeds from selling donated books into new books and educational resources for our families in Wards 1, 5, 7 & 8. Whether it’s through donations, your patronage, or just connecting with us, the DMV community makes our work possible.

🍁📚Carpe Librum is back in Eastern Market this Autumn! Starting this weekend, catch us in front of the Eastern Market metro stop on Sundays between 10 AM to 5 PM. Shop gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and records all for $7 or less!

100% of all proceeds support family learning initiatives in Wards 1, 5, 7, and 8 with Turning the Page. Turning The Page works one-on-one with parents and caregivers, offers critical resources, and hosts programming to improve educational outcomes for elementary and middle school students.

Save the date! The Children’s Book and Learning Festival is around the corner, and we cannot wait! On Saturday, September 20th, join us for a full day of learning and fun at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (Woodrow Wilson Plaza)
