The next astronauts exploring the Moon could be driving on Swiss-developed technology. 🌕

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration has selected the company Astrolab as one of the providers of a new crewed lunar rover for the Artemis campaign.

The vehicle, called CLV-1, will rely on critical technologies developed by Venturi Space teams in Switzerland, Monaco and France.

Among them:

• hyper-deformable wheels designed for extreme lunar terrain
• high-performance batteries
• advanced battery management systems

The rover is built for one of the harshest environments ever explored:

→ temperatures from -240°C to +130°C
→ steep lunar terrain
→ lunar nights lasting up to 14 Earth days

NASA plans for the new lunar vehicles developed under this programme to reach the Moon by 2028. 🌑🚀

🥈 Switzerland ranks among the world’s top countries for hiking trails in 2026! 🇨🇭

According to a study by TouchNote, Switzerland ranks 2nd in the world, just behind Canada 🇨🇦, and ahead of Italy 🇮🇹, the United States 🇺🇸, and Norway 🇳🇴.

The ranking is based on the analysis of AllTrails data across multiple countries, using five criteria: average trail rating, average number of reviews per trail, average length, average difficulty level, and beauty score.

Switzerland came very close to the top spot, with an average trail rating of 4.77/5 and a beauty score of 9.79/10. ⭐

Beyond its 2nd place in the overall ranking, Switzerland stands out for its "hidden gems": 6 of the world’s 10 most underrated hikes are located there, including three in the stunning Oeschinensee region.

Almost all Swiss universities participate in space research, producing everything from optical components to scientific instruments used in missions worldwide.
