Small Business Development:
The purpose of the Small Business Development program is to provide accessible, affordable, and professional counseling, training, and resources to start-up and existing businesses, and assist in various aspects of small business development. It will help business owners to improve their skills in the management and operation
of their small business, thereby increasing their profit. Health Services:
Promotes health and wellness of immigrants and refugees through annual physical check-ups and education, to bring awareness of health issues and provide preventive care. The objective of this service is to help low income members of the community obtain free health services, to include annual checkups for cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, hypertension, and eyesight. College Preparation:
This workshop is important for young church members who need information, counseling and assistance relating to college applications and processes. They will receive guidance on choosing a college, getting admission, applying for a financial aid and scholarship and how to be successful in college. Employment Workshop:
To provide information, tips, examples and advice on job applications, resume writing, interview techniques and job search steps for anyone looking for a job. This service is for currently unemployed members, those interested in changing careers and also for graduates of international higher learning institutions. Participation in this workshop is meant to shorten time spent hunting for a job by providing the necessary tools to success. Free Housing & Finance Counseling:
To ensure that refugees, other immigrants and low income residents achieve their have access to adequate housing. Our goal is to offer counseling and financial guidance so that members have the information needed for renting or owning homes within their financial means. Computer Training:
Provide computer training including instruction on computer basics (hardware, software, buying/upgrading a computer...), standard Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access), and using the internet. The long-term plan includes providing computer certification trainings (A+, MCSE, OCP ) and advanced programs such as Crystal Report, SPSS, SAS, and Peachtree Accounting. Instruction in computer usage is meant to assist community members in becoming tech savvy and better equipped in navigating beneficial tasks such as job hunting, house hunting and other basic day to day tasks involving paying bills and accessing personal data. This is also necessary for parents who want to assist their children with various school assignments, and college applications. Newcomers Orientation:
This program is to provide church members who are new to the country with basic information on the “American way of living”. The goal is to help people get acclimate faster and equip them with the information they need to successfully integrate in their communities. Those with limited resources and or family/ friends will benefit most with basic information on services such as, reading train/ bus maps, enrolling in free language classes, applying for legal resident permits, applying for a job, applying for schools, opening bank accounts and managing money and paying bills.
