This past weekend, Dr. Yael Admi, co-founder and Chairperson of Women Wage Peace, and Reem Al-Hajajra, founder of the Palestinian Women of the Sun movement, met with the Pope in Rome.
The meeting took place as part of a special event hosted by the Vatican, with the participation of approximately 30 leaders, spiritual figures, and civil society activists from around the world. They were chosen to be the keynote speakers at the event, presenting the unique collaboration between Israeli and Palestinian women working together to promote a safer future for both peoples.
The Pope expressed his deep support for the movements' shared Mothers' Call to end the conflict - especially in light of the difficult reality - and said: "Kol hakavod for your dedication. Women are the engine for peace, and I will do my best to help you."
It is moving to see the respect that both movements receive around the world. We will continue to spread voices of peace from every platform we are given.

Another milestone for civil society: the Council of the European Union highlights civil society’s fundamental contribution towards lasting Israeli-Palestinian peace. 🕊️🇪🇺

In the latest Council Conclusions, the EU reiterated its “commitment to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace” – and it knows civil society is key.

Days after hearing directly from Palestinian and Israeli grassroots leaders convened by French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot in Paris, EU leaders explicitly recognised “the important role played by civil society in peacebuilding efforts and in building the foundations necessary for a negotiated and lasting Israeli-Palestinian peace and in that context welcomes the holding of a dedicated conference in Paris on 12 June 2026”.

This recognition is a powerful step forward. Now, let’s translate it into lasting impact: we encourage the Council to continue to lead by institutionalizing civil society’s role as a core pillar of the EU’s diplomatic strategy towards peace.

Our deep thanks to António Costa, Kaja Kallas, and Νίκος Χριστοδουλίδης - Nikos Christodoulides for their vital leadership in securing this milestone. Looking ahead, we welcome the upcoming Irish Presidency of the Council and look forward to partnering with Micheál Martin and Irish Foreign Ministry to permanently anchor civil society at the heart of EU diplomacy. 🇮🇪🇪🇺

Two weeks of major milestones have shown us what's possible when civil society is heard. Let’s keep this momentum going.

🤝 🎬 Behind the Scenes as Israeli & Palestinian Civil Society Leaders Present G7 Blueprint to Foreign Ministers.
Just before world leaders met in Évian-les-Bains, something big was happening in Paris, convened by Jean-Noël Barrot at Institut du monde arabe. 150 Israeli and Palestinian civil society leaders sat on stage with global diplomats to deliver the Paris Call 2026, a joint appeal to the G7 to advance peace, security, freedom, and dignity.
Not a wish list. A joint plan to break a frozen, violent and unjust status quo.
Captured and produced by Medalia Productions crew, our new 2-minute film pulls back the curtain on the room where it happened. 🎥

INSIDE LOOK: Watch as ALLMEP members Rawan Odeh and Eran Nissan, with Executive Director John Lyndon, speak directly with European Commission foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas at the Paris Call 2026.
Their message: it's time to institutionalise civil society peacebuilding — to radically scale support for peacebuilders on the ground in Israel-Palestine and give them the political backing that makes peace possible.

Thank you to Kaja Kallas for consistently showing up for civil society. Having committed over €18 million at last year's It's Time conference, the EU is the largest single donor to civil society peacebuilding. This week, at the EU council, member states have the chance to now embed that reality in policy, and institutionalise civil society’s role.

As Eran put it, peacebuilders are the experts in leading difficult conversations. And as Rawan made clear, they are ready to step into the political process – but they need the EU's partnership to get there.

We call on the EU Council to codify and institutionalise civil society's role, reflecting in policy terms what Kaja Kallas said from the stage in Paris: “Civil society is not an afterthought in diplomacy, it is indispensable for building peace.”

Thank you European External Action Service - EEAS for engaging directly with the people doing the work that can widen the diplomatic window, and bring us closer to genuine peace.

Last week, Canada reinforced its commitment to the region with two powerful announcements: the launch of the International Fund for Israeli-Palestinian Peace, and $100 million in funding for urgent humanitarian assistance to the West Bank and Gaza 🕊️

The combination of these two is a huge step towards a holistic strategy for a just and peaceful future for all.

These investments provide life-changing aid and programs today, as well as build the conditions for peace tomorrow.

Thank you, Canada’s Foreign Policy—Global Affairs Canada, and Foreign Minister Anita Anand for this extraordinary leadership and support for civil society! 🇨🇦

The G7 just landed in Évian. The blueprint for peace got there first.
Last Friday, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot convened a day-long pre-G7 Summit peacebuilding conference bringing foreign ministers and senior diplomats from over a dozen nations face-to-face with civil society leaders leading the “ground game” for peace.
The result: The Paris Call 2026 – comprehensive recommendations jointly developed by 150 Israeli and Palestinian civil society leaders, with a year of input from hundreds more, organized in partnership with The Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP) , Guerrières de la Paix - Mouvement, and Principles for Peace.
The 5 working groups featuring ALLMEP members met to draft policy recommendations for the G7 on the topics of:

🔒 Security for Israelis & Palestinians

🏗️ Humanitarian action & reconstruction in Gaza

🗺️ Implementing the two-state solution & confronting annexation

🗳️ Narratives for peace, democracy, & reform

🤝 Regional integration

Their charge: break a frozen status quo after nearly three years of acute violence and chart concrete pathways toward diplomacy, security, and peace.

And the commitments are already rolling in:
🕊️ The UK ( Yvette Cooper , Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office), Canada ( Anita Anand, Canada’s Foreign Policy—Global Affairs Canada) & Australia ( Penny Wong - Senator for SA , Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) launched a new International Fund for Israeli-Palestinian Peace — following a decades-long ALLMEP campaign.
🇨🇦 Canada’s Foreign Policy—Global Affairs Canada announced another $100M in urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza.
🇪🇺 The EU already committed €18M for civil society peacebuilding.

And the message on stage was clear: "Civil society is not an afterthought of diplomacy. It is indispensable for building peace." — EU High Representative Kaja Kallas.

Jean-Noël Barrot’s promise to the delegations: "Your proposals pave the way… and you can count on us to relay them directly to world leaders."

Now, these proposals are on the world leaders’ table at the G7. And, as ever, civil society stands ready to build a better future for everyone.

“The window for a solution remains open, but it is narrowing. The moment requires urgent diplomacy, grounded in partnership with civil society.”

A new feature by The Guardian dives deep into the historic convening that took place last Friday in Paris – and what it means for diplomacy and for the region.

As G7 leaders meet today in Evian, they can channel the ideas of 150 Palestinian and Israeli peacebuilders who gathered alongside global diplomats, with a clear message. “Diplomacy for Israelis and Palestinians has been too elite-driven, too top-down..." said ALLMEP Executive Director John Lyndon. To build a viable future, global leadership must meaningfully integrate the region's most creative, determined, and collaborative resource: civil society

We are proud that Huda Abu Obeid, Executive Director of the Negev Coexistence Forum for Civil Equality, participated in the Paris Peace Conference, which brought together hundreds of Israeli and Palestinian civil society leaders, peace activists, academics, and international partners.

Hosted with the support of the French government and partners including ALLMEP, the conference focused on the role of civil society in advancing peace, security, and a political future for Israelis and Palestinians. Participants discussed concrete steps toward ending the conflict, strengthening cooperation, and ensuring that the voices of those working for peace continue to be heard.

For us, being invited to take part in this conference was both an honor and a recognition of the importance of our work.

At the Negev Coexistence Forum for Civil Equality, our daily work focuses on civil equality, social justice, and the rights of Bedouin communities in the Negev. At the same time, we believe these efforts are connected to a wider vision of peace, dignity, security, and mutual recognition for all the peoples of the region.

We are honored to contribute our voice and experience to these important conversations and to stand alongside those working toward a more peaceful and just future.

It’s a wrap!
The 2026 Paris Call for Two-State Solution conference is officially over.
Here’s a little bit of what happened today:
🕊️150+ Palestinian and Israeli civil society leaders, policymakers, diplomats, and international partners have gathered with a number of Ministers from France, Canada, the EU, Egypt, and more.

5 working groups featuring ALLMEP members were in session to draft policy recommendations for the G7:
🔒 Security for Israelis & Palestinians
🏗️ Humanitarian action & reconstruction in Gaza
🗺️ Implementing the two-state solution & confronting annexation
🗳️ Narratives for peace, democracy & reform
🤝 Regional integration

🎤 Canada’s Foreign Policy—Global Affairs Canada Minister Anita Anand delivered her remarks on a panel and referenced the newly announced International Fund for Israeli-Palestinian Peace.
Anne-Claire Legendre, President of the Institut du monde arabe, reiterated that civil society is not an afterthought. She highlighted ALLMEP's AI Pulse poll of political attitudes in Israel-Palestine as an important example of how evidence-based civil society engagement can help inform and strengthen diplomatic efforts.

🤝🏼The Paris Call for Peace 2026 was presented on stage by Israelis and Palestinians, ALLMEP members and others.

Today was another powerful example of what can be achieved through collaboration between civil society and diplomacy. Thank you French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and especially Jean-Noël Barrot, for hosting the event. This was the second consecutive year that ALLMEP served on the Steering Committee of the Paris Call. Last year, the recommendations developed through this process directly informed the UN's New York Declaration.

Stay tuned—there is much more change-making ahead.
