Happy International Day of the Girl Child! 💙
Today, we celebrate the strength, potential, and dreams of girls around the world—and recognize the importance of ensuring that every girl has the opportunity to learn, grow, and shape her own future.
At HANDS, we are proud to support programs in Egypt that expand opportunities for young women and girls through education, skills development, and community-based initiatives. By investing in their potential, we help create pathways toward greater confidence, independence, and opportunity.
On this special day, we celebrate the girls and young women whose determination inspires us, as well as the families, educators, partners, and supporters who help make their progress possible.
Together, we can continue building a future where every girl has the chance to thrive. 💙

Last week, HANDS brought U.S.-based artists Sharmila Karamchandani and MaryLouise Marino to El Minya, Egypt, for four inspiring days of training with 37 talented local women artisans.

Hosted by our local partner CEOSS, the highly interactive and creative sessions focused on product design, quality control, and marketing—helping participants strengthen their skills, build confidence, and grow their craftsmaking into successful small businesses.

Just as importantly, working side by side, sharing ideas, and creating together built meaningful connections between Americans and Egyptians, which is at the heart of HANDS’ mission of creating opportunities for people-to-people exchange.

We are grateful to Sharmila and LouLou, the wonderful CEOSS team, and the Egyptian participants who brought so much talent, energy, and creativity to the program.

And a special thank you to our HANDS community—your generosity made this experience possible! ❤️
