Our History
In 2007, a landmark report published by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) detailed changes in US Medicare legislation that could affect health outcomes for patients with multiple chronic diseases. In response, a committee of multidisciplinary professionals in South Florida was established to devise a plan for an organization that would certify pharmacists providing medication therapy management (MTM).
The founding board was founded on November 7, 2007.
As years progressed, the program evolved into a post-licensing certification, and the board was finally incorporated as the National Board of Medication Therapy Management, Inc. (NBMTM) in 2017.
