We need green infrastructure enthusiasts like you! 💚

We are recruiting three cohorts to participate. We are seeking 3 captains per cohort (a paid position) to be responsible for rain gardens in their target areas, and volunteers to assist with maintenance. You can participate at any of the locations across Wards 7 and 8 after you attend 5 in-person trainings. ⁠

Our first workshop will be Wednesday, October 14, from 6 - 7 PM at Deanwood Recreation Center Multi-purpose room.

Ride for the River has been rescheduled!

Unfortunately, rain postponed our original event, but we'll continue on October 31st. This event will feature cyclists biking a scenic route along the Anacostia River. You can join us as a rider or sponsor a rider! With your support, we can keep working toward a swimmable, fishable Anacostia. We will be hosting a send-off happy hour at Atlas Brewery!

Live bacteria monitoring is here! We’re teaming up with Xylem and Virridy to make sure you’re informed before you recreate on the Anacostia River!

We send our data to virridy to help train their sensors to predict E. coli levels in the water, and all you have to do is check their website just like how you check the weather! Go to TheLume.ai/DC and scroll down to the map. The sites are color coded so you know when it is safe to splash!
