Tunza NA - UNEP Tunzana is the North American chapter of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) “Tunza Network”. The overall TUNZA Concept is built around this theme.

Established in November 2008, Tunzana is a collection of youth environmentalists from Canada and the United States that operates alongside UNEP. TUNZA is the children and youth program of the United Nations Environment Programme. The word “TUNZA” means “to treat with care or affection” in Kiswahili (a sub-regional language of Eastern Africa). It is an initiative that is meant to develop activities

in the areas of capacity building, environmental awareness, and information exchange, with a vision to foster a generation of environmentally conscious citizens, capable of positive action. Meet our current TUNZA Youth Advisors for North America:
Victoria Wee

Top Canadian Environmentalist Under 25 in 2012 (The Starfish Journal). Victoria is currently completing her bachelor's degree at Stanford University and has authored multiple reports and publications on various environmental issues. In preparation for the Earth Summit 2012, she has toured all over Canada hosting presentations and workshops at schools and universities for two months. She has spent a summer studying climate change in the Arctic and headed a movement to increase youth involvement with the Arctic Council. She has been involved with preparing UNEP Tunza Youth conferences in Indonesia and Kenia and is currently serving as our global youth adviser for Tunza North America.
