Scholars, please read this article! It pertains to any job not just Google!
"Beware. Your degree is not a proxy for your ability to do any job. The world only cares about — and pays off on — what you can do with what you know (and it doesn’t care how you learned it). And in an age when innovation is increasingly a group endeavor, it also cares about a lot of soft skills — leadership, humility, collaboration, adaptability and loving to learn and re-learn. Encourage them to apply for the DC Achievers Scholarship! It opened today!!!! It's a scholarship that's worth up to $11,400 for the next 4-5 years of college.

The Achievers Scholarship Program was generously funded in 2007 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. To date it has provided college readiness, mentoring and support, as well as scholarship financial aid to hundreds of low-income youth in the District of Columbia.
