ActionAid USA

ActionAid USA ActionAid believes that we can bring an end to poverty and injustice by investing in local problem solvers.

ActionAid is an international network building a just, equitable, and sustainable world in solidarity with communities on the frontlines of poverty and injustice. We know that local people understand their context better than we ever can. They’re determined and committed, and motivated to change the world around them. That’s why we actively invest in powerful people living in poverty and exclusion

in 45 countries around the world. Problem solvers who know what’s needed to change lives within their own communities, and have the power to mobilize and inspire others. We tackle problems where we can make the most difference, connecting problem solvers from communities around the world with the people whose decisions affect their daily lives, so they can understand and claim their rights, and bring about change that lasts.

In the , 1 in 3 people surveyed believe Ebola is not real.

This kind of misinformation can put lives at risk and stop people from seeking care, fuel fear and stigma, and make it harder for communities to protect themselves.

ActionAid is working with local partners in DRC to share trusted information, challenge dangerous myths, and support community-led prevention efforts.

Israel’s far-right national security minister taunting detained Gaza-bound activists is a chilling display of cruelty.

The international community must demand accountability, protect humanitarian action, and push to ensure aid reaches Gaza.

An Ebola outbreak in Ituri province, DRC, threatens to deepen an already severe humanitarian crisis for communities living through prolonged armed conflict.

ActionAid is calling for urgent, coordinated action to help stop the spread of the disease while protecting basic rights, education, and essential services.

Women and children are among those facing the greatest risk from the overlapping impacts of violence, displacement, school disruption, and now Ebola.

Mothers in Gaza are using vinegar and salt as their only defense against rats, insects, and disease. Families are living in overcrowded conditions among rubble, sewage, and uncollected waste. Children are being bitten by rats in their sleep. Skin diseases are spreading. Basic hygiene has become a luxury.

This is the result of destruction, displacement, collapsing sanitation systems, and restrictions on the essential supplies needed to protect people’s health. People in Gaza are doing everything they can to keep their families safe. They should not have to fight a public health crisis with vinegar and salt.

ActionAid is calling for all restrictions on essential items entering Gaza to be lifted immediately, and for humanitarian aid to enter unhindered and at scale.

Santa Marta is a major milestone in the fight to phase out fossil fuels. But it is not the finish line.

If this transition is going to work, it must be fair. That means putting frontline communities first, supporting Global South leadership, and ensuring real resources for a just transition. We cannot repeat the same systems of inequality in the name of .
