Cultivating the well-being of our communities through creative programming in kid-driven gardens.

Since 2009, City Blossoms has designed, developed, collaborated on, and provided programming or trainings for over 100 projects throughout Washington, DC and nationwide. Through our work with hundreds of community-based organizations, neighborhood groups, schools, and learnings centers, we serve all people, with a particular focus on Latino, African-American, and immigrant youth. We work within ne

ighborhoods in which children and youth may not otherwise have access to green space. Washington, DC is our home base where we test and innovate new ideas for designing and implementing urban gardens that are communal, educational, artistic expressions of their surroundings. Thousands of participants, from toddlers through teens, have been engaged as cultivators using their creativity, intellect, and energy to shape their communities through fantastic and functional gardens.

Hey party people!

We wanted to share the unfortunate news that we are postponing our Garden Fiesta due to the high likelihood of thunderstorms during the event. While we are disappointed to not see you all this Friday, your and the rest of our City Blossoms Community’s safety is always our top priority.

The new date for our Enchanted Forest Garden Fiesta is Friday, September 18th from 6-9pm in our backyard studio garden (rain date: Saturday, 9/19).

If you have a ticket already, this will remain valid for both the new date and the rain date. If you purchased additional tickets on behalf of another person, please share this information with them as soon as possible. We will continue to post updates at www.cityblossoms.org/fiesta, stay tuned!

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We truly can’t wait to celebrate with you in our Enchanted Forest in September and in the meantime, we hope you’ll stay in touch and join us during our weekly programming. Keep an eye out for additional events and celebrations throughout the summer!

Just over a week ago, City Blossoms had an incredible time at the 2026 edition of Rooting DC 🌱. Our team led engaging, hands on workshops, making refreshing garden lemonade and exploring what it means to cook straight from the garden.

Meanwhile, our Mighty Greens youth truly stole the show leading a greenhouse tour, hosting a panel where they answered questions about their business, and guiding participants step by step through a seedling demo. It was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when young people are given the space to lead and thrive. 🫶🏽
