The Afro-Brazilian Arts & Cultural Heritage Festival [www.afrobrazilfest.com] was a week-long event held June 6-12, 2011 in Washington, DC celebrating the vibrant Afro-Brazilian cultural heritage. The event featured Capoeira, Samba, Maculele, Maracatu, Go-go, and West African dance and music performances and workshops; visual art exhibits; award winning documentary film screenings; panel discussio

ns; and culinary demonstrations and tastings. Cultural arts access is central to the festival organizers so most of the festival's activities were free to the public.
