Filipino Young Professionals of Washington DC We are dedicated to developing our 4 pillars: social, professional, cultural, & community. The Filipino Young Professionals of Washington, D.C.

is organized exclusively for recreational, social, educational, and charitable purposes. The purpose of this corporation is:
-To create a network of young professionals in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area
-To provide education about Filipino American heritage through social and recreational activities
-To contribute to the Washington D.C. Filipino American community through social and charitable events and volunteer activities

Celebrate Filipino American History Month (FAHM) with a special walking tour exploring the deep and often overlooked connections between the Philippines and Washington, D.C.

Professor Erwin R. Tiongson of Georgetown University, author of Philippine-American Heritage in Washington, D.C. (History Press, 2023), will guide us through 8–10 sites on Georgetown’s Hilltop Campus and surrounding neighborhood.

Drawing from more than a decade of research, Prof. Tiongson will share stories tracing the intertwined histories of the Philippines and the United States—from the Spanish-American War and U.S. colonial period to Philippine independence and beyond. Along the way, we’ll uncover D.C. landmarks and connections rarely mentioned in traditional guidebooks. After the tour, join us for an informal lunch hang nearby to connect, reflect, and meet new friends.

A few weeks ago, we hosted a clothing swap and weren’t entirely sure what to expect with leftovers. Thanks to our incredible community showing up in a major way, we had plenty to share! Today, we dropped off our remaining 4 bags to Martha’s Table, plus an extra bag of cozy blankets to Friendship Place at the Brooks Family Shelter. ✨
