Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026
Empowering Girls and Women Through Knowledge, Confidence, and Care
Every year on May 28, the world observes Menstrual Hygiene Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about menstrual health and hygiene while breaking the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation. This important day serves as a reminder that menstruation is natural and that every girl and woman deserves access to proper hygiene products, education, care, and support.
The date May 28 was carefully chosen to symbolize the average menstrual cycle of 28 days and the average period length of 5 days. Across the globe, organizations, communities, and advocates use this day to educate people, promote healthy conversations, and support women and girls who face challenges related to menstrual hygiene.
