Sharing experience and insights to drive continuous improvement. That's the power of Responsible Care®.

June is off to a strong start for ACC's Process Safety Regional Networks (PSRNs), with two events hosted by Health and Safety Council in LA and Stepan Company in IL, bringing together industry professionals to share experience on how they drive safer operations.

Safety experts came together to exchange lessons learned, discuss emerging challenges, and share how they are tackling risks including combustible dust hazards, alarm management, overfill prevention, and workforce onboarding.

Through Responsible Care®, companies are sharing with one another, strengthening safety systems, and continuously improving performance across the industry.

Thank you to HASC and Stepan Company for hosting these valuable conversations and to the participants who help advance process safety every day.

We look forward to continuing the conversation at our next PSRN meeting in Washington, D.C., on September 24.

Process safety is about more than preventing incidents. Through Responsible Care®, industry professionals are tackling emerging challenges, from combustible dust risks to the growing role of AI in process safety.

Last week, 35 process safety professionals gathered at The Lubrizol Corporation's Deer Park facility for ACC's Texas Process Safety Regional Network meeting. Discussions focused on managing combustible dust risks, using Power BI and AI to better measure process safety effectiveness, and sharing lessons learned on operator training, incident prevention, and RCMS and PSM implementation.

Fore the future! ⛳

Last year, supporters helped raise more than $111,000 through Swings for STEM, creating opportunities for students through Future of STEM Scholars Initiative and CEF in STEM.

This year, ACC and Alliance for Chemical Distribution are once again bringing together champions of STEM education to help open doors for future scientists, engineers, and innovators.

🏌️ Event Details:

• October 26, 2026
• The Golf Club at Lansdowne Resort

Yesterday, Future of STEM Scholars Initiative scholars met with ACC leaders from across the organization to learn more about Responsible Care 🌎, economics 📊 advocacy 🏛️, communications 📣, plastics ♻️, and ACC’s broader work to support and advance the U.S. chemical manufacturing industry. 🧪

Sarah Brandt, Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs at ACC, spoke with scholars about how the chemical industry engages with communities and addresses public concerns around safety and sustainability:

“We want to be engaging directly with local communities and having conversations. It’s really about showing through action. We have to demonstrate that we are doing what we say we are doing."

These conversations give scholars a firsthand look at the innovations and economic contributions of the chemical industry, including the many career opportunities connected to STEM, while also highlighting the importance of transparency, community engagement, and building trust through action.

What makes a safety commitment more than just words? Measurement. Accountability. Continuous improvement. That's exactly what Responsible Care is designed to deliver: a framework that helps chemical companies protect people, communities, and the environment, not just in principle, but in practice.

This week, ACC's Dan Roczniak, Senior Director of Responsible Care and the RC team led an RCMS/RC14001 Implementation Workshop at Celanese Corporation's Florence, KY facility, bringing 32 industry professionals together to advance certification and strengthen the management systems behind Responsible Care. Grateful to Celanese for hosting and for their ongoing pledge to Responsible Care.
