On February 14, 2025, alumni Connor Paletta, '25; Philip Libanati, '25; Matt Nolan, '76; and John Corrigan, '83 helped us break ground on the now-completed Benedictine Learning Center alongside Cardinal Wilton Gregory, Archbishop Emeritus of Washington, DC; Abbot James; Fr. Peter; Chelley Colley; and Susan Duarte.

Phil Walsh, '95, was elected President of the American Classical League, a national nonprofit that advocates for the study of Latin, Greek, and the ancient Mediterranean world!

Previously, he served as editor of The Classical Outlook, ACL's peer-reviewed journal focused on teaching and learning. Since 2016, he has worked at St. Andrew's School (Middletown, DE), where he teaches Latin and Greek at all levels, English, and history. His second book, A Folded History: Poems and Mythologies, appeared in 2025. Finally, Phil serves as Vice President of the Board of Trustees at St. Anne's Episcopal School.

As part of his gap year experience, Shep Sipmeier, '26, attended the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Switzerland. He spoke with researchers and entrepreneurs about how AI and robotics can be used to improve economic development, decrease global conflict, and improve lives; he even tried his hand at coding some of these advancements.
