We are deeply honored to have hosted Alex Theran, Senior Associate at the Refugee Investment Network (RIN), for an insightful learning session as part of the independent review of the Transforming Humanitarian Energy Access (THEA) programme led by Ashden.
Our team at LIFT Community Based Organization is thrilled that the session was such a success! It was a privilege to showcase our solar-powered farming and income generation project in Kakuma Refugee Camp, demonstrating how clean energy directly transforms livelihoods, drives food security, and empowers displaced communities.
Grateful for the opportunity to share our practical insights and help inform future locally led energy access initiatives! UNHCR KENYA

Enhancing Visibility for Lasting Impact: Empowering Communities Through Clean Energy
At LIFT Community Based Organization, we are thrilled to share a major milestone in our organizational development! We have received vital financial support from Ashden under the Transforming Energy Access (TEA) program, enabling a specialized digital communications and infrastructure training program currently being delivered by the expert team at KIZA ACTION.
This strategic investment directly powers the capacity-building and outreach goals of our Solar-Powered Farming and Income Generation Project.
Strategic communication is the backbone of project sustainability. Through this financial backing and KIZA ACTION's practical training, our team is optimizing our digital infrastructure by:
Setting up a social media dashboard and analytics tools to better track, analyze, and engage with our community and global stakeholders.
securing our digital home by covering critical website hosting, domain renewal, and essential security

We are incredibly grateful to Ashden, under the Transforming Energy Access (TEA) platform, for providing LIFT Community Based Organization with the vital financial support needed to conduct our technical capacity building training!
Thanks to this crucial funding, our local technicians and farmers participated in an intensive 12-day hands-on program designed to build long-term independence in renewable energy management. The training successfully delivered:
• Solar PV System Design & Installation: Practical skills to deploy and maintain robust solar infrastructure.
• Solar Water Pump Configuration: Mastering system optimization to maximize water efficiency for agricultural use.
• Internal Capacity Building: Equipping our team with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting workflows to ensure long-term system reliability.
By helping us transition away from costly, polluting diesel systems to optimized solar-powered irrigation, this catalytic funding directly advances our solar-powered farming and income-generation project.
For our local farmers, this translates to lower operational costs, consistent crop yields, and sustainable household income. For LIFT CBO, it allows us to establish lasting technical expertise directly within the community we serve.
Thank you, Ashden, for investing in local capacity and driving practical, climate-resilient solutions where they matter most!. Cultivating Resilience: Where Food Security Meets Climate Action
At LIFT Community Based Organization, we believe a single seed can solve multiple challenges. Our latest agricultural initiative is more than just a farm, it is a frontline solution for:
Zero Hunger: Directly tackling food insecurity and malnutrition for both refugees and host communities.

Economic Empowerment: Creating sustainable livelihoods and income-generating opportunities.

Climate Resilience: Implementing conservation practices that sequester carbon and protect our local environment.
By bridging the gap between humanitarian aid and environmental stewardship, we are building a future where both people and the planet can thrive. for Action (GPA) CorpsTransforming Access , AgencyFolkekirkens #(DanChurchAid)Danish Council/Dansk
