ealth, business and professional services. Q: Can anyone join NAWBO? A: Membership is open to sole proprietors, partners and corporate owners with day-to-day management responsibility. Although anyone can join, most of our programs and opportunities are geared toward entrepreneurs. Find out more about NAWBO membership. Q: What are the benefits of joining NAWBO? A: NAWBO membership offers premier opportunities for the woman business owner to reach business goals and maintain a competitive edge through training, education, corporate connection, networking, peer support, public policy, annual awards, regional and annual conferences and direct discount programs. Members receive a monthly newsletter from national in addition to our monthly e -News and program fliers. Members have the opportunity to work within our Strategic Alliance with the National Women’s Business Center and become a mentor for a new business owner. Q: Can I join on a trial membership? A: Membership to NAWBO is renewed on an annual basis. How much does it cost? Chapter Dues are $100. National Dues are dependent on which membership category is chosen. A: NAWBO Greater DC welcomes non-members to many of their events; non-members typically pay a higher price for entry. Thank you to all of our members, new members, and guests who turned out last night to celebrate our year and join in our Annual Meeting. We had an amazing year thanks to Katie Nelson and the amazing Board, committee members, and the entire organization. Dawn McGruder swore in our incoming President, Denise Sarpong Johnson, and the incoming Board. Plus, Nicole Chamblin received the Member of the Year Award for exceptional engagement and showing up. Jen Dalton was recognized with the President's Award for her contribution to the chapter this year. As we wrap up the year, we are incredibly proud to celebrate that the NAWBO Greater DC has been recognized as a 2025–2026 Chapter of Excellence by the National Association of Women Business Owners! This prestigious honor recognizes chapters that demonstrate exceptional leadership, member engagement, advocacy, and commitment to supporting women business owners.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our board, volunteers, members, sponsors, and community partners who work together to create meaningful opportunities for women entrepreneurs throughout the DMV.

Thank you to everyone who has attended an event, served on a committee, supported a fellow member, shared their expertise, or championed our mission. This recognition belongs to all of you.

As we close out the 2025–2026 year, we extend a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing Board of Directors for their service, strategic leadership, and commitment to advancing women business owners across the Greater DC region. Your work has strengthened our chapter, expanded our partnerships, and created more opportunities for women to lead, grow, and thrive in business.
