Me & You DC metro based 501(c)(3) nonprofit making a difference in the lives of kids & families in need & our city's homeless ✨

Me & You is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, advocating for students from underprivileged communities, and those without a home. We partner with schools in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia to provide students with the necessary items and services for a well-rounded life. We work with teachers and administrative staff at the schools to determine needs and fundraise to

fulfill them. Over the past five years, we’ve supported more than 1,000 students in the D.C. metro area through our programs, making a direct impact on their lives. Our programs have included providing students with school supplies, clothing, meals and full-sized toiletry packages for them and their families. Around the winter holiday season, we also fulfill students’ wishlists as well as providing grocery store gift cards for their families. We also provide winter clothes, coats, and blankets, as well as providing access to technology for in-classroom learning and learning in a virtual environment. Our experiences program, which we launched a few years ago, focuses on providing opportunities for students outside of the school walls, such as access to field trips and extracurricular activities to help them grow and learn. Opportunities we’ve provided have included yoga classes, NBA basketball games, wall climbing and summer camps!

For our city’s homeless, we distribute care packages, clothes, food and other necessities. We have provided more than 900 toiletry packages and over 1,100 meals to our city’s homeless. We reach out to people on our streets, and help them with their everyday life as best we can. We seek to make a difference in someone else’s life, even if it’s only for a day.

This winter we supported $44,000 worth in projects at local schools in the DC metro region. We were able to provide 150+ toiletry packages for families, 200 winter hats/gloves/coats, 350+ grocery store gift cards, and experiences such as field trips, college tours and an educational scholarship. Year after year, none of this gets any easier. We are forever grateful for the generosity from our community. 🖤 we wouldn't be able to be here, to support the hundreds of students that we do, without you. Most of the funds that we raise is from small individual donations, and not so much major donors. So, every single donation has mattered. 📓

Approximately 23% to 33% of teenage girls in the U.S. struggle to access or afford pads and tampons, a phenomenon known as period poverty. Nearly 1 in 4 students have missed class due to lack of products, with many forced to wear them longer than recommended, impacting their education and health.

Last year we were able to fill the classrooms at Parkland HS with pads. The drive for awareness and need was led by the schools' Girls Leadership Group.

We were also able to provide dozens of bras. Thank you for helping us support our girls 🧚🏼‍♀️

With Love in Action, every year we support a project that we feel brings an impact to the community. We are so proud to support the Lunar New Year celebration at Blake HS this year. The celebration was a collaboration between 3 local high schools: Blake, Paint Branch and Springbrook. The show was in the auditorium for the first time ever and the attendence was overwhelming.

"Events like this help students, especially immigrants and first-generation students, feel recognized and connected to a broader community. This experience strengthened my sense of belonging. Being surrounded by people who were open to learning about and celebrating cultures different from their own gave me hope and confidence as I continue my journey in this country." - Romeesa A. student

What an incredible night and the perfect way to close out our fundraising season. 💙❄️

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Home for the Holidays Bar Crawl we had such a blast with each and every one of you! This night truly wouldn’t have been possible without every person who showed up, donated, supported, and celebrated with us. From bar to bar, the energy, love, and generosity were felt all night long.

Because of you, we’re able to continue supporting schools, families and students in need, and programs that create real impact in our community.

Four Annandale bars. One festive night. A chance to win over $1,000 in prizes, all thanks to the community that helped us grow.

When Me&You first started, it was just us begging friends to show up to our fundraisers at Da-In, donate $20, and help us make sandwiches and hot meals for our homeless community. Those early nights laid the foundation for everything that came after.

Ten years later, those small moments have turned into deep relationships. Local businesses, longtime friends, and community partners came together and helped us become what we are now. This is a BIG THANK YOU to them for the generously donated raffle prizes to make this bar crawl possible. We are truly in awe of the love, support, and trust that surrounds this organization.
