Breadcoin is a community response to those who are hungry. Join the network of people, food providers and community groups working to be sure everyone is fed.
Neighborhoods work together to get Breadcoins (food tokens that work like cash at participating vendors) into the hands of those who need them. This happens through generous Breadcoin members who give monthly to provide the coins.
Vendors accept them just like cash, and a Breadcoin team member cashes them out monthly, providing a vendor with new customers, the knowledge that he or she is feeding more of the community, and a critical role in a system that is insuring all have food security and choice and are treated with dignity. Vendors can also apply for micro loans to grow their businesses.
We are an all volunteer team led daily by Scott Borger, Cary Umhau, William Spence and others.
