The Trevor Project's Washington, DC Ambassadors Committee

The Trevor Project's Washington, DC Ambassadors Committee This group was created for Washington, D.C. area supporters of The Trevor Project. www.thetrevorproject.org

The Washington, DC Ambassadors of The Trevor Project is a group of volunteers dedicated to helping raise awareness about Trevor's mission of ending su***de among LGBTQ youth. We are working with schools in the DC-area to reach out to kids directly and raise awareness of the issue, as well as raising support through volunteerism and fundraising, to help The Trevor Project carry on their life-saving

efforts. Trevor's DC Ambassadors coordinate and implement program, outreach and fundraising related activities in an effort to raise visibility of the organization and help grow our programs nationwide. In our first year we raised nearly $100,000 for the Trevor Project and engaged over 1,000 DC area supporters.

Happy New Year's Eve! As the year is coming to a close, we wanted to thank all the DC Ambassadors and local supporters of The Trevor Project. The community outreach and fundraising events we held this past year would not have been possible without you. If you weren't able to connect with us this year, remember that you can always support the organization with an online donation. And with that...the DC Ambassadors will be going quiet for awhile. But look for updates as we approach Capital Pride in 2020! Be well! :-)

Today is Cyber Monday, a day when many people are focused on their holiday shopping lists. But at the Trevor Project, we're taking today to focus on telling the stories of those who help save young LGBTQ lives. This year, The Trevor Project has connected with more than 100,000 LGBTQ youth in crisi...

Thank you to everyone that came to the Janky Sweater Party last night! We raised over $1,700 for The Trevor Project at the event. Those funds will help keep the lines open at Trevor and save young LGBTQ lives. None of this would have been possible without the amazing staff at 18th & U Duplex Diner, our drag host Goldie Grigio and all the wonderful performers! We are forever grateful for their support. Happy holidays everyone! ✨🏳️‍🌈☃️🤗☃️🏳️‍🌈✨

The FINAL regular meeting of the DC Ambassadors will take place tomorrow (12/4)! We'll meet at the The DC Center at 7:30pm to plan for the upcoming The Janky Sweater Party - a holiday affair, wrap up any remaining business, reflect on what we accomplished this year and discuss what is possible in 2020 and beyond. We hope to see you there!

Your involvement, whether it was time, or financial, has made a difference in countless lives in DC, Maryland, Virginia, and beyond. Many of you are witness to the numerous thank yous we received from people who have utilized the services The Trevor Project provides during Pride events. As mentioned at the last DC Ambassadors meeting, there will be "A Night Out for Trevor" event this year but it will be very different. It actually takes place later this month (September 25th) so take a look. The DC Ambassadors are not running the event but it should be a nice opportunity to show your support for The Trevor Project. :-)

Come enjoy an open bar and learn about ways you can support LGBTQ youth with The Trevor Project!
