Welcome to the September 2026 edition of our newsletter. Read the latest news from the International Association of Potential, New and Sitting Members of the Board of Directors (IAMBD).

It can be accessed securely at the Reading Room of the Association.

In response to hybrid threats and the systematic misuse of hyperlinks by malicious actors, we have implemented a strict no URL policy for social media communications.

Malicious actors frequently copy legitimate social media posts and republish them with the original links replaced by attacker controlled URLs. Because the text, branding, and timing closely mirror the original message, the altered post appears to originate from a trusted source. Attackers often use fake profiles posing as colleagues or senior executives, which further reinforces credibility. In such cases, the link is perceived as trustworthy. This exploitation of trust significantly increases the likelihood of successful compromise.

Certificate in Board-Level Oversight of Hybrid Risk Management.

We are excited to share the launch of a new distance learning and online certification program, the Certificate in Board-Level Oversight of Hybrid Risk Management, from the International Association of Potential, New and Sitting Members of the Board of Directors (IAMBD).

In today’s fast changing world, where regulatory complexity, digital transformation, geopolitical fragmentation, and interconnected risks are the new normal, this program gives Board members the knowledge to understand, evaluate, and challenge hybrid risk management strategies with confidence.

Our offices will be closed until September 12. We will upgrade our systems, ensure GDPR compliance, test our security countermeasures, improve our procedures to enhance customer service and improve efficiency, and go for the summer holidays. During this period, we will answer emails and send our distance learning programs every day, but we will not send our newsletter. We wish you all to spend quality time with your family and friends, and to take time for you. Have a nice summer!
