Over the years, Washington, DC fandom has played host to many science fiction and fantasy conventions, including Disclave, Capclave, and two Worldcons--Discon I (1963) and Discon II (1974). Now a new generation of DC area fans are bidding for a Worldcon. We are bidding for August 2021 at the Marriott Wardman Park in the Woodley Park neighborhood of Northwest Washington, DC. The hotel is surrounded

by a vibrant strip of restaurants and shops, Rock Creek Park, and the Smithsonian National Zoo. It is also situated near the Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan neighborhoods, both of which provide a wealth of restaurants with a variety of cuisines, unique shops, and historical sites.
