Fan Freedom and its thousands of individual and organizational supporters fight for the basic rights of fans and ticket owners wherever they are threatened. On the key issues in this fight, we believe:
• Ticket Ownership. When we buy tickets, we own them.
• Ticket Transfers. We have the right to buy, give away or sell tickets however we choose, anytime we choose, in any way we choose, at any pri
ce we choose. Nonprofit organizations that depend upon donated tickets to raise funds deserve and need continued access to them.
• Right to Know. Before we choose to buy tickets, we have the right to know how many tickets are really on sale to the public for a given event (this number is often a very small fraction of a venue’s capacity because tickets are pre-sold or held back for VIPs and other “special” customers).
• Fair Access. We deserve the chance to buy event tickets from the box office at face-value, without unfair competition from automated ticket-buying software programs (known as “bots”) that jump ahead in line and grab the best tickets seconds after they go on sale.
• Competition. We deserve a fair, open and freely competitive ticket resale market where we can buy tickets to sold-out shows, buy cheap tickets to our favorite sporting events, and resell tickets we cannot use.
