Pacific Islander Access project

Pacific Islander Access project Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders are underrepresented in higher education, but they can't apply to many underrepresented minority scholarships.

We're a small nonprofit working to change that. The Pacific Islander Access project is out to fix a problem: while Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islander Americans are underrepresented in higher education, they are excluded from applying to many scholarships, fellowships, and other academic programs for underrepresented minorities. The PIA project is changing this by sharing information with

well-intended underrepresented minority programs, and helping them open their doors to Pacific Islanders. We also work to raise public awareness about America's growing Pacific Islander community, especially as it pertains to education.

Under our agreement, APIASF will incorporate the PIA project's work into its own efforts. PIA project's leadership will work within APIASF to help with this transition, while the PIA project will cease operations as a 501(c)(3) later this year: http://apiasf.org/press_2016_03_31.html
