The Samuel S. Hicks Memorial Fund is a proud sponsor of the Westmoreland/Fayette County Scouts of America. The scouting program helps prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices, instill values, strengthen character and build a foundation for a life of impact and purpose. The program emphasizes the Scout Oath and Law, which outlines principles like duty to God and country, helpfulness and trustworthiness.
Agent Samuel Hicks attended Camp Conestoga each summer with his fellow Eagle Scout Shawn Ulrey.
Both Samuel and Shawn had the opportunity to attend Philmont New Mexico Scout Ranch together for two weeks of adventures.

On June 7, 2025, the FBI Aviation Program, in coordination with FBI Jacksonville Division, hosted the FBI Aircraft Dedication Ceremony in honor of Special Agent Samuel S. Hicks.
Noah Hicks, Samuel's son, was presented a replica of the aircraft. The tailgate numbers/letters signify the Bible verse, 2 Timothy, Chapter 4, Verse 7, and the SH stands for Samuel Hicks.
The Unit Chief stated, "We will never forget him. His name will fly with us, protect us and live on with us in every mission we undertake. As the sky welcomes this aircraft, we carry Sam's memory with us into the horizon."
Former FBI coworkers, Academy classmates and sister in law, Angela Ney, spoke of his dedicated life and accomplishments. Treavor Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance and Samuel's sister, Emily Mauri gave her personal insight to Noah through her written poem on what it was like growing up with Samuel.
Samuel's life and sacrifice will forever touch lives.

The law enforcement ride to DC that typically precedes National Police Week is called the Police Unity Tour. This tour is a fundraising and awareness event for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, raising awareness about officers who have died in the line of duty. The tour culminates with a ride-in and ceremony at the Memorial in Washington, D.C., which is often scheduled on the Sunday of National Police Week.

Abagail L. Williams is the recipient of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Samuel S. Hicks Memorial Scholarship.
Abagail is a motivated Justice Administration, Criminology and Political Science Major who is serving as president of the Criminal Justice Club. She is presently doing her internship at the office of the District Attorney of Cambria County.
In accepting this award, Abagail states, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude for this award which validates my hard work and dedication toward academic and personal excellence. It is Agent Hicks’s hard work and courage that allows him to be honored in such an amazing way. I hope one day to pay-it-forward in a way that reflects (your) his kindness.”
