Some people refuse to let a “no” be the end of the story. 𝐅𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐦𝐨 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐧, a Community Support Specialist and McClendon Center's latest Staff Shout-Out Winner, is one of them.

Fadumo meets clients where they are, works through barriers, and keeps going until they have the care and support they need. Thank you, Fadumo, for the heart and persistence you bring to this work.

You can't judge a book by its cover. Every one of us carries a story that a label, a diagnosis, or a first glance will never fully capture.

That idea was this year's theme for the Dance-Movement Therapy showcase at Art of Transformation. Whether you were there that night or are seeing it for the first time, we invite you to experience the joy, courage, and connection these performers shared.

“Respecting what you believe in and showing action is the way of being alive…”

Kenneth, a member of our Day Program, shared his original poem, “The Way of Being Alive and Not Dead,” at Art of Transformation 2026, a powerful reflection on courage, self-respect, and the freedom to be yourself.

This performance was part of our Dance & Movement Therapy showcase, themed “You can’t judge a book by its cover,” where performers shared who they are beyond a diagnosis through movement, poetry, and more.

“I’m not my past. I’m simply my future.”

At this year’s Art of Transformation, Latoya took the stage with a powerful spoken word piece and an incredible baton twirling routine which, quite frankly, stole the show.

This performance was part of our Dance & Movement Therapy showcase, themed “You can’t judge a book by its cover,” where performers shared who they are beyond a diagnosis through movement, poetry, and more.
