The GW Healing Clinic’s end of the year Heel-to-Heal 5k fundraiser ends this Sunday! We have reached our second fundraising goal of $7500! Thank you to everyone who has already signed up and collected donations, our patients really appreciate your effort! With the fundraiser coming to an end this weekend, we are challenging our supporters to continue collecting donations and meet our THIRD AND FINAL FUNDRAISING GOAL OF $10,000 by Sunday night. This is our final push for donations, there is still time to sign up and send your individual fundraising link to make healthcare in D.C. more equitable (and win raffle tickets for exciting prizes).

Attached is a instagram bingo fundraiser. Post on your story after you finish the 5k! Don't forget to tag .healingclinic on instagram after completing the 5k!

Use our fundraising tips to reach your fundraising goals:
• Encourage others to register (anyone may participate, they do not have to be medical students to earn raffle tickets) and send out their individual fundraising link
• See if donors you know would sponsor you per mile. You can offer to run/walk/bike as many miles as possible and ask friends and family to donate a certain amount per mile.
• Offer to do something silly when you reach individual fundraising goals! Ideas include: walk the 5K backwards or in heels, post your funny childhood pictures, or dye strips of your hair a bright color

Thank you so much to all of our donors and fundraisers, the GW Healing Clinic is beyond grateful for your help! And an additional thank you to our sponsors: Patagonia, &Pizza, Potomac River Running Store, Georgetown Running Company, The Ritz-Carlton, Ramparts Tavern and Grill, Picmonic, Boards and Beyond, Lecturio, and Osmosis.

🏃‍♂️🙏HEALING CLINIC 5k FUNDRAISER!🙌🎉.

Hi Healing Clinic community!
Tired of being cooped up in the house? Let’s take advantage of the beautiful weather AND support our friends in need during these challenging times! We are officially kicking off a socially distant 5k fundraiser, benefitting the DC nonprofit, SOME🙌 We are so excited for this fun and engaging fundraiser, and we hope you take the time to read the details below and then join along🏃‍♂️ Tag us in your content and use our hashtags . Event running for 1 week, Gofundme link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/healing-clinic-campaign-for-SOME?utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer&utm_campaign=p_lico+share-sheet

Every year, Healing Clinic hosts an annual “Heel to Heal”, where students, families, faculty, and many others participate in a 5k to help fund our year-round efforts to provide care for vulnerable patients, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to halt our in-person activities at our three clinic sites, we are still very aware of the impact it has had on our community and the patients we serve. In lieu of our in-person Heel to Heal 5k, we are holding an online Heel to Heal 5k fundraiser for So Others Might Eat (SOME), an organization that has been doing tremendous work in addressing the various needs of the DC community during this time. We encourage you all to participate by "Moving 5, Donating 5, and Tagging 5" -- feel free to run, roll, or stroll your 5k, donate $5 or more, and tag 5 of your friends, family, classmates, or colleagues! Tag us, use the hashtags above, and the donation link is in our bio!

SOME (So Others Might Eat) is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help community members experiencing financial hardship and homelessness in our nation's capital. SOME meets the immediate daily needs of the people they serve with food, clothing and health care. They help break the cycle of homelessness by offering services such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling to community members experiencing financial hardship, homelessness, and mental illness. Each day, SOME is restoring hope and dignity, one person at a time.

Please join us in making a difference! Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
