Accepting the 2026 NBCUniversal Local Impact Grant for foster youth in Washington, DC was an honor we won’t forget.

Last week, the Foster and Adoptive Parent Advocacy Center (FAPAC) team stepped into a TV studio to accept our $35,000 grant, and we’re still smiling. We got to meet and learn from so many other Washington, DC nonprofits working hard to strengthen our community, and we left inspired by every one of them.

This investment helps us continue to support our Foster Youth Summit, Youth Mentoring Program, and other resources for youth aging out of foster care across the DC area.

Here’s what we’ve been up to lately at FAPAC! 💚 Our Community Engagement Coordinator, Isabella, has been out and about in our community, connecting with partners and supporting events across the area.

💚 We joined the DC KinCare Alliance in celebrating Kinship Care Month.
💚 We supported Terps Fostering Future at the University of Maryland during their organization fair.
💚 Our Recruiting Specialist, Toni, served as a panelist at DC Family Court’s Neglect Symposium. Congratulations, Toni!
