The biggest impact of an educational experience isn't always what students learn- it's what they begin to believe is possible.

For recent 3DE by Junior Achievement graduate Naishon, that shift happened when he realized the opportunities his experience could unlock.

"Once I realized this is something that could get me a lot of internships and job opportunities, I started taking advantage of my 3DE experience."

Help more students discover what's possible.

A student from Eastern Middle School in Silver Spring, MD walked into Junior Achievement Finance Park and came out thinking differently about every dollar he spends.

"Now that I've done Finance Park, I probably won't want to buy as many things and buy cheaper things and take advantage of free activities."

Giving a 13-year-old the opportunity to practice these real world skills can change how he approaches finances for the rest of his life.

As AI reshapes the workplace, career readiness is changing, too.

Critical thinking. Creativity. Collaboration. Communication. Cultural agility. Self-direction.

These are the human capabilities that can help young people adapt, grow and navigate what comes next. Junior Achievement wants to bring this conversation to SXSW EDU 2027 with our proposed session:

Accelerating Human Capability in the Age of AI

We’ll explore how career-connected, experiential learning can help students build these capabilities—and create pathways to credentials, postsecondary education and careers.

At Kilmer Middle School in Fairfax County, students walked into Junior Achievement Finance Park ready to test what their Civics class had taught them.

"This learning model takes some of the big economics theories they learn in Civics class and makes them real. Students come away from the day having a better understanding of what adults and family members struggle with on a daily basis," said school counselor Cara Engel.

Suddenly, their families financial decisions make sense. Economic understanding and empathy grow together, and that's hard to find anywhere else.
