Junior Achievement of Greater Washington JA of Greater Washington is changing the game for our region's youth with relevant, experiential education for the real world.

JA is a non-profit organization that brings together school systems, business leaders and trained volunteer mentors to provide equal access to the tools, people and experiences all youth need to be 100% prepared for real life in the real world.

How is the founder of SPANX helping students set up their mindset for the future?

Before 3DE students take on their first real-world business challenge, they start by shaping the mindset they'll need to tackle it. Through the Shape Your Mindset Series, inspired by SPANX founder Sara Blakely, students explore four ideas that shaped her own entrepreneurial journey: Determination, Curiosity, Authenticity, and Confidence.

Long before SPANX became a global brand, Blakely faced rejection, cold-called manufacturers and retailers, and kept pushing an idea she believed could solve a real problem. Now, her story is helping our students think about how they approach their own challenges and opportunities.
