The Latin American Motorcycle Association (L.A.M.A) was founded in 1977 in Chicago’s notorious Humboldt Park neighborhood. was intended as a Touring club with truly Democratic ideals. A lone chapter until the first chapter was started in Miami in 1995, LAMA became a National Association when the first national president was elected in 1996. pters in Puerto Rico, Mexico, U.S.A. & Cuba. Presently LAMA has additional chapters in Uruguay, Venezuela, Argentina, Spain, Germany & Australia. LAMA was intended as the club of the 21st century and is a work in
progress, to be continued by the flow and ideas of new members in near and far off lands! We have evolved into an “International Humanist Association”. We accept working people from all walks of life regardless of nationality, race, color, religion, social class, gender, age, brand of motorcycle, etc. We believe that it is more important to be human than to be Latin, Asian, black, white, etc! LAMA is one of the most respected clubs in the world. As a LAMA member there are doors opened to you in every city where we have chapters. To know LAMA is to visit the other chapters, especially chapters in other nations, fraternize and feel the warm hospitality they offer you. LAMA is recognized as one of the most active long distance riding clubs in the world. Our women, the DAMAS DE LAMA, accompany us on their own motorcycles, riding X-treme distances which most Bikers find way too far and others find a challenge of endurance. Happy New Years LAMA DC FAMILY!!

Welcome to the start of what I believe will be a great year here for LAMA DC. We have had a successful 2015 and I believe 2016 will be a continuation of this trend for our club.

I just want to remind everyone that we are having election for the Vice President position at the meeting in January. Only FULL members in GOOD standing can vote. So if you are behind in Dues please make sure you bring your membership up to date so that you can cast your vote.

We will be discussing our ride schedule for next year and forming our Anniversary Planning committee. The committee will have much work cut out as we need to choose a new venue that's not only convenient but accessible to good hotels and rates for incoming LAMA clubs and their families.

Also, we have a fellow former LAMA member, Cynthia Tatum, from a Florida chapter who is now in the No.VA area and would like to attend our meeting but needs a lift from the Vienna Metro Station. If anyone is near this station and available to swing by and pick her up please get in touch with me or with Cesar and we will give you her contact information.

We hope to see familiar and new faces at the meeting. Enjoy the beginning of 2016 with loved ones, stay safe and see you Sunday, January 3rd at 11am sharp at Patriot HD!!
