Networking), and Professional Development. Since its creation in 2004, AHP continues to serve the Community and evolve as a non-profit corporation with their international office headquartered in Washington DC. AHP promotes and supports the professional development of Haitians and those of Haitian descent through advocacy, education, mentoring, workshops, programs and networking.

🇭🇹 Through Sante Pam, she empowers Haitian Creole families and other underserved communities through culturally relevant health and nutrition education, outreach, and resources.

🏆 As a Licensed Registered Dietitian and health professional, Dr. Fourron is dedicated to improving health literacy, reducing health disparities, and ensuring that language and culture are never barriers to understanding one’s health.

🌟 Alexandra Cenatus is the Director of Programs at Maryland Humanities, where she develops innovative, community-centered programs that amplify voices and make the humanities accessible to all.

🏆 Recognized as one of the Maryland Daily Record’s 2025 Leading Women Under 40, Alexandra is also a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where her research focuses on Haiti, the Haitian diaspora, and cultural traditions.

🎉 The 2026 AHP Excellence & Pride Award recipients have been selected!

👏🏾 Congratulations to Dr. Jonas Jolivert, recipient of the Diaspora Engagement with Haiti Award! 🇭🇹✨

🩺 Dr. Jolivert is a physician, educator, humanitarian, and community leader whose lifelong commitment to Haiti extends far beyond borders. Born in Port-au-Prince, he earned his medical degree with honors in the Dominican Republic and later specialized in neurosurgery in France.

🌍 Despite living abroad, Dr. Jolivert has remained deeply committed to Haiti. As President of the Franco-Haitian Association for Exchange and Solidarity (AFHES) in Marseille, he leads initiatives focused on education, community development, and opportunity.

🇭🇹 One of his most impactful initiatives is a community development project in Pinot, Arniquet, launched following Hurricane Matthew. The project provides educational opportunities for approximately 200 children and has established two secure, fully electrified learning centers equipped with technology and high-speed Starlink internet, creating greater access to education and digital resources for the community.

📖 A passionate advocate for Haitian culture and literature, Dr. Jolivert also founded the Jean Métellus Prize and established Éditions Recto Verso, promoting Haitian writers and literary excellence.

🏆 Through his work as a physician, educator, humanitarian, and diaspora leader, Dr. Jolivert exemplifies the power of service and the lasting impact of giving back to Haiti.

👏🏾 Congratulations to Cynthia “Chef Thia” Verna (), recipient of the Entrepreneur Spirit Award! 🇭🇹✨

👩🏾‍🍳 Haitian-born culinary entrepreneur and global ambassador, Chef Thia has dedicated her career to elevating Haitian and Caribbean cuisine. A cm laude graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Miami, she has worked at prestigious establishments, represented Haiti internationally, and appeared on Taste the Islands, No Passport Required, and Food Network’s Can’t Cook with Ludacris.

🏆 In 2017, she made history as the first woman to win the People’s Choice Award at the Embassy Chef Challenge, representing Haiti among chefs from 30 nations. Through her restaurants, cookbooks, spice line, mentorship, and advocacy, Chef Thia continues to inspire and proudly share Haitian culture with the world. 🇭🇹❤️
