🌎 Hammarskjöld served during some of the most tense moments of the Cold War — navigating superpower conflicts and operating in one of the most complex and politically charged environments in modern history.

📖 And yet his private journals reveal a man who believed his effectiveness as a global peacemaker depended largely on his inner life — his conscience, his integrity, and his willingness to listen deeply before acting. That principle is as relevant today as it was then.

National Parents Day - Parents of the Year

This National Parents Day, we are honored to announce this year's recipients of the UPF National Parents Day Award — Parents of the Year.

Bishop Charles Dudley and Lady Marion Dudley.

A couple who have dedicated more than thirty years to strengthening families through faith, service, and unwavering love.

Married in 1995, they raised three sons and are the proud grandparents of ten grandchildren. Family has always been at the center of their lives, investing deeply in their children's and grandchildren's lives and creating opportunities to keep their growing family closely connected across generations.

In 2002, they founded New Beginnings Ministry of Faith in Havelock, North Carolina, where they faithfully pastored for more than two decades. During that time, they mentored hundreds of families, partnered with local ministries to feed families in need, and served their community through numerous civic and charitable organizations.They have stood courageously for religious freedom through their support of international initiatives.

But perhaps their greatest testimony has been the way they have loved one another through life's greatest trials. Even while enduring the loss of parents, the heartbreaking loss of their youngest son, and more recently Lady Marion's serious health challenges, they have continued to encourage, comfort, and serve others with extraordinary faith and compassion. Bishop Charles' devoted care for Marion has become a living example of the sacrificial love that strengthens a marriage and inspires an entire community.

We are honored to recognize Bishop Charles and Lady Marion Dudley for their lifelong example of faithful parenting, servant leadership, and enduring love.

Congratulations, Bishop and Lady Dudley. Your lives are a gift to your family — and to all of us.
