Georgetown Lombardi Arts & Humanities Program The Georgetown Lombardi Arts & Humanities Program helps those affected by cancer find comfort through artistic expression.

Generously supported by the Cecilia F. Rudman Endowment Fund, the Arts & Humanities Program offers a range of programs for patients, their loved ones, as well as faculty and staff. Our program:

- Offers specialized activities for patients, family, medical caregivers and support staff, and training for artists in healthcare.
- Provides arts resources including journals, poetry, needlework supplies

and a variety of art kits.

The AHP was honored to participate at the 38th annual Lombardi Gala on March 14th at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. The gala raised nearly $33 million for the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer to support its mission to prevent, treat, and cure cancer.

Our new exhibition,
“Connect, Create, Contribute,Celebrate!”
by Life Pieces to Masterpieces
has been installed in the Lombardi Cancer Center Adult Clinic.

The exhibition will be displayed from May 2, 2026 to August 8, 2026.

Based in North East, DC., LPTM serves over 120 Black and Brown boys and young men from the city’s most marginalized communities.

About the Poetry Café....

The Poetry Café features original works submitted by members of the AHP community, including virtual class attendees, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital patients and staff, and other supporters of the AHP. This event has brought together a community of writers to celebrate the joy of poetry for 11 years.

The Poetry Café will take place at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s Chapel (3800 Reservoir Road NW, Washington, DC, 20007). A virtual option is available for our global community to participate.
